Description

Correspondence received from Government offices [departments] on subjects concerning Trinidad. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • Crown Agents (Central Mining and Investment Corporation, Trinidad Oilfields Limited, oil licence for Oropouche Lagoon, United British West Indies Petroleum Syndicate pipe lines, visit of Mr J Cadman to Canada, $1000 currency notes, Anglo-Scottish Investment Corporation, Model Oil Prospecting Licence and Lease, Licence for Trinidad Leaseholders, Trinidad Central Oilfields Limited, resignation of Mr J Hill engine driver, Port of Spain Station, loan legislation, oil agreement and Sir W Ingram);
  • Council (extension of Order in Council of 26 October 1896 to the colony);
  • Foreign Office (claims against Venezuela, ex-President Castro, Venezuelan surtax, surrender of smugglers, smuggling affray with Venezuelan coastguard steamer, Soldiers Rock incident, claim against Venezuela, rising in Venezuela, situation in Venezuela).
