Description

Correspondence received from Offices (Government Departments and other organisations) on subjects concerning Trinidad. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

Offices:

  • Admiralty (patenting wireless receiving arrangements, Oil Mining Ordinance, oil refineries, lease to British and Foreign General Securities and Investment Trust, compensation for emergency action in war, United British West Indies Petroleum Syndicate, oil fuel for naval requirements, destruction of oil in emergency);
  • Foreign Office (arms for Venezuela, ex President Castro, detention of the M C Holm and its officers, shipment of arms to the West Indies and notification, Venezuela suspects in Colombia imprisonment of Robert Brown, Venezuela surtax, extradition of two fugitive criminals, parcel post agreement with Venezuela, extradition of Tomas Guerras and Eugenio Sardo, extradition agreement with Venezuela, repeal of Venezuelan Extradition Ordinance);
  • Home Office (the return of ticket of leave convicts);
  • India Office (labour recruiting in Surat district, Burma Oil Company pipe line rules);
  • Medical Adviser (Dr P E H Giuseppi);
  • House of Commons (labour conditions on Tabaquite Railway Works, sentences imposed by B Wright, Venezuelan surtax, reciprocity with Canada, indebtedness of Port of Spain local board, financial conditions of St Augustine Estate);
