Description

Correspondence from 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) on matters relating to Trinidad. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • Admiralty (concessions to British and Foreign General Securities and Investment Trust, floating dock, oil industry, Trinidad Oil Fields Limited, Oil Mining Ordinance, oil production, defence scheme, report on oil industry for the quarter ended 30 June 1911, Pipe Lines Ordinance, oil concessions, concession to the Oil Exploration Company of Canada, Oil Mining and Refining Ordinance 1911, oil refineries);
  • Foreign Office (Venezuelan 30% surtax, centenary of Venezuela independence, Venezuela prohibition of export or arms from Trinidad to Venezuela, revolutionary expedition against the Dominican Government, United States petroleum industry, proposed British Bank in Venezuela, small pox patients on SS Tennyson, Mrs de Merlin's claim against the Venezuelan Government, case of ex-President Castro, complaint and claim of Robert Brown against the Venezuelan authorities, British 'lunatics' in Venezuelan asylums, Venezuela claim in regards to the murder of Hamilton Paul, contract between the Venezuelan Government and the River and Coastal Navigation Company, detention of the officers of the steamer M C Holm, imprisonment of Robert Brown, claim of Jacob Pemberton Cyrus against the Venezuelan Government);
