Description

Letters from various government offices (departments) and individuals most of which relate to the despatches sent from the governor in CO 295/391 - CO 295/394. Correspondents and subjects covered are as follows:

  • Foreign Office (tonnage dues, debt of Venezuela Post Office, Venezuelan President's journey up the Orinoco, Venezuelan differential duties, US tonnage dues on vessels from Trinidad and Tobago, return of Sir H Jerningham via Venezuela, reciprocity with the US, thirty percent surcharge on exports to Venezuela, duty on goods in transit in Venezuela, exportation of arms to Venezuelan rebels, shipment of war supplies to Venezuela);
