Description

Letters from various government offices (departments) and individuals most of which relate to the despatches sent from the governor in CO 295/332 - CO 295/334. Correspondents and subjects covered are as follows:

Offices (Government Departments):

  • House of Lords (Port of Spain's water supply);
  • House of Commons (Venezuelan differential duties);
  • Admiralty (W O Spence's appointment as Customs Officer);
  • Crown Agents (Pitch Lake concession, copies of articles of agreement, issue of loan under Ordinances 9 and 31 of 1890, employment of W White and G Ramage, record of procedures for the Pollard v Harragin case, Judicial Committee of the Privy Council notes of the Pollard v Harragin case, proposed dock basin at Port of Spain, reengagement of A W Laverack, gulf stream service, purchase of two steamers);
