Description

Letters from individuals [G-Z] on matters related to Trinidad. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • Mrs B E Gray (requests assistance, asks that her stipendiary magistrate husband may be allowed to draw his salary for the period he was deprived of his office by Sir G Hill);
  • William Grindlay (requests an appointment and allowance for expenses incurred as a stipendiary magistrate);
  • G Gordon, Consul (asks if any privilege was allowed to French ships carrying passengers and if a premium was allowed to emigrants settling in Trinidad);
  • Sir Lewis Grant (recommends that Mr Jackson not be appointed as attorney general, recommends Mr Wylly as attorney general and subsequently as solicitor general);
  • G Hill (defends Sir G Hill against Captain Hodgson's charges);
  • Henry Hill (supports Dr Anderson's leave of absence extension application);
  • Joseph Hume (papers for Mr Burnley, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce enquiry regarding emigration from Sierra Leone to Trinidad);
  • Benjamin Hughes, former Chief of Police (memorial requesting employment);
  • John Helps (requests Sir G Hill's death certificate);
  • Thomas Houlbrooke and Mrs Jane Williams (petition to recover property from Mr Gloster who had acted as attorney for them);
