Description

Letters received from various government offices (departments), and other organisations relating to Jamaica. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

  • House of Commons (notice of motions);
  • Admiralty (diet at Kingston penitentiary, claims of Greenwich Hospital to land in Jamaica, the case of the British Schooner La Have, the judgement in the case of the La Have);
  • Crown Agents (appointment of T P Healy and M Griffiths as Masters of the elementary schools at Jamaica, payment of charges incurred in shipping of stationery to the Jamaican Government, transfer of the agency of the government of Jamaica, charges for police clothing sent to Jamaica, requisition from the Postmaster of Jamaica, tenders for the construction of an iron bridge at Nightingale Grove Jamaica, pension of J A Lord, salary of H T Irving, appointment of two master workmen for the Jamaica Government Reformatory, salary of R Blair, pension of T E Herschal, pension of J Stainsby, requisition for stores by the Director of Roads, half-salary of D H Campbell and pension to J H Moore, stipend and pension of W Stone, salary of T Mitchell Inspector in the Jamaica Constabulary, charges for stationery sent to the Jamaica Government, requisition of drugs and chemicals for the Public Hospital at Kingston, the appointment of two master workmen for the Jamaica Government Reformatory, nickel coinage to be shipped to Jamaica);
