Description

Offices and Individuals. Letters from 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) and from individuals relating to the West Indies. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

Offices:

  • Admiralty (Vice Admiralty records, claim for passages, quarantine regulations at Naval Hospital, Morant Bay, ship Imaum gift to local government);
  • Council Office (appointments, implementation of Acts);
  • Foreign Office (extradition of John Dean, Haitian conspirators, Swedish Vice-Consul, immigration into the colony);
  • Law Officers (legal position of Cayman Islands);
  • West Indian Incumbent Estates Commission (chargeable fees, Incumbent Estates Act);
  • Wellington College (will of John Pillon);
  • Lunacy Commission (lunatic asylum regulations, Warden and Matron of Lunatic Asylum, suggested additional enquiries, appointment of officers);
