John Collin to Officers of Ordnance: the winter has passed without disturbance from the enemy and he has constructed a fourth rank of palisades around the fort. Captain Aldred of HMS Rochester has no orders regarding the garrison, but has put 30 marines into it. Collin hopes for more forces on the next ship from England. Dated at Fort William, St John's Newfoundland.
