English translation of letter from Toussaint Louverture, General in Chief of the Army of Saint Domingo, Leagane, dated 28th Frimaire year 8 of the French Republic, to Mr Cathcart. Toussaint states that having had letters from Sir Hyde Parker translated he has read them carefully and 'I cannot express to you with what grief and chagrin I felt at their contents'. He feels that the English have deceived him. He sent vessels to the south of Saint Domingo and finds that they have been seized by the English. He requests that the ships be sent to their original destination. Folios 58-61
