Description

John Holden, Hull. Receipt of letter to take care of the old canvas, which is more than necessary for fitting the Grampus Sloop's rigging, towards that of the new 50-gun ship building at Hessel. The rigging of the Grampus has been completed by John Austin and asks if John Austin is to return to Deptford or to rig the 50-gun ship. Captain Philip Tom of the Grampus received on board the men lent from the St Quintin Armed Vessel, the men hired from Trinity House and the prest men from the Kingston Armed Vessel and Phoenix Tender. There are 99 men now on board.
