Folio 320-321. Letter to William Wickham, police magistrate, from Edward Gosling at Plymouth, Devon, describing the assistance given by the Mayor of Plymouth in securing a warrant from a county magistrate to search the house of Samuel Williams's uncle at Dock [Devonport] outside the limit of the mayor's jurisdiction. Williams had not been found at his uncle's house but his aunt and grandmother had been there and had given evasive and conflicting information. Gosling would consult Messrs Elford and Foot, magistrates, as to whether the women should be questioned further.
