Nature of request
Letter of Edward of Caernarfon and his lieutenant to the council sending them a letter which came to them from the king for the burgesses of La Rochelle, and commanding them to make such execution of the letter as they consider ought to be done.
Nature of endorsement
The letter and the request were hastily returned to the king's son because those of his council there were going to him.

The letter is dated to 1298 because it is dated with SC 8/346/E1423 and E1426 with which it was probably originally enclosed. The letter does have a dating clause but it only gives '3 March' and no regnal year.
