Nature of request
Mountford states that it was found by inquisition taken by Spyne that Thomas de Tanworth had enfeoffed Fulwode and others with certain lands and tenements with appurtenances to the value of £10 per annum which he had in Tanworth and Aspley Green to the intent that Fulwode and the others would give them in mortmain to the church of Tanworth for two chaplains to sing divine service in the church forever without licence of the king, and by virtue of which the king was seised of the lands and tenements and granted the same to Swette for the term of his life, which he has given or leased to Mountford. She requests that she be granted a licence to amortise the lands and tenements with other lands and tenements to the value of 20s per annum in the manner as was supposed by the inquisition without making a fine to the king for the alms of Dame Blanche, mother of the king.
