[Petition in two parts. The petition is badly damaged, and is missing substantial portions form the middle of each part, and is otherwise faded].1) Trowele complains for the profit for the king and for his own right concerning the great extortions and oppressions committed in Cornwall by the Trevaynons and other malefactors of their retinue [..] they came with force and arms against the peace and in malice [...] to kill the petitioner [...] for fear of death, whereupon the malefactors wrongfully took out of the land and pasture [of the petitioner] [...] and beat and wounded the petitioner and took and still detain his horse.2) Afterwards, at the pursuit of the petitioner, the malefactors were forced to find surety to keep the peace to the petitioner and the king's lieges, but notwithstanding this the Trevaynons, Andy and many others of their affiliation by the procurement of Philip by force and arms, came upon the petitioner and beat him nearly to death, and afterwards burnt his house. Trowale has no means to pursue them at the common law, and he requests remedy and execution [...].
