Nature of request
Botiller requests that the escheator be commanded to surcease his grievances and distresses made against him and his tenants by the seizure of their land, and innumerable injuries, and that he release their distresses taken for this reason. Botiller had approved the wastes and woods of his manors of Wem and Tyrley that are held of the king in chief, by letting the wastes and woods to various tenants of the manors for the term of their lives for a certain rent to be rendered from year to year, by which the manors are greatly increased to the great profit of the king when it escheats into his custody.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ of the great seal to the Escheator within the Trent that he certify to the court his acts in those parts, and for what reason and cause he has taken the land etc.

The petition is dated to c. 1315-c. 1330 in part on the hand, and in part because of the dating of other petitions ascribed to this petitioner which date to 1319 and 1322-1326 (SC 8/35/1716; SC 8/82/4059).
