Nature of request
The master and brethren request respite of a debt that they owe the king for fines, issues and amercements that have come in demand by diverse parcels in diverse counties that amounts to 60 marks, until a certain time when they and other fines, issues and amercements that they owe to the king can be allowed in the great debt of 2,000 marks that the king owes them by letters of obligation.
Nature of endorsement
The treasurer grants that they should have respite as far as etc. in all counties where the debt within written is demanded because the king is bound to them in a great sum.And have a writ of respite as far as upon account [...] by fine made in Chancery for various sums from the fines for entering several lay fees [specified] in Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, and from forfeited issues.
