Swineburne requests reward for his service in the Welsh and Scottish wars in the company of St John and Buteturt, and that he will grant the lands of Brice de Blare that are in Ayrshire, and are of no value beyond 20 marks per annum, Blare having died by judgment and attaint as an enemy of the king, and against his faith.

People mentioned
John de Seint Johan (St John)
John Bouteturt (Buteturt)
Brice de Blare (Blair).
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1300-c. 1320 because there is no evidence in the patent and close rolls of the petitioner having received any grant in accordance with his request made in this petition. The petitioner also refers to service in the king's Welsh and Scottish wars, so that it seems likely that this petition dates to the reign of Edward I. However, the petitioner was granted the manor of Knaresdale in the liberty of Tynesdale for his service in Scotland on 3 May 1315 (CPR 1313-17, p. 281). The hand is not inappropriate for a petition of that date, and it is possible that the petitioner was rewarded in a different way to what he had requested. This grant does seem to be made in the aftermath of the disastrous Bannockburn campaign, so seems unlikely to relate to this petition.
