Nature of request
The abbot requests that the king will acquit him of the sum of £400 4s. on demand upon him for the arrears from the time that the lands were in the abbot's hand in money that was then current. The king rendered the lands of the church of Fecamp to the abbot by his grace, and the abbot enjoyed the issues for a year and a half, but the king has reclaimed the arrears for certain reasons.
