Nature of request
Answer addressed to the council of the prince and stating that the prior of Plympton had complained that Gylle and others had arrested diverse of the prior's servants and taken certain money from them for the ferry [across the Tamar], but the truth is that the neither the mayor nor his servants took any money, and that they did distrain the Davy for 10s. for the prior's contribution to the repair and making of a new ferry boat as other burgesses contributed, and as the prior and his predecessors had been accustomed to do, they never having refused to contribute in the past.

An answer to the prior of Plympton's bill.It was awarded by the council on the sight of the prior's evidence that the prior should have free passage for him and his household men without contributing to the charge for the repair of the ferry boat.
