Description
Petitioners
Roger Bonde (Bond), tenant of the prince within his manor of Calstock.
Name(s)
Bonde (Bond), Roger
Addressees
Council of the prince.
Nature of request
Bonde shows that he leased the armour mill with a blow house attached to the same in the prince's manor of Calstock, with the waters belonging thereto from the prince, and promised to repair the same, but Knolle has constructed another mill and takes water away from his mill, and from the prince's ground, damaging the prince's manor, and his tenants, and utterly destroying the mill so that Bond can neither afford the charges for repair or the rent. He asks the prince's council to consider this and to set such direction so that Bonde may occupy the mill according to his taking, and that his water is not redirected from the prince's mill. Knolle has been prosecuted in the prince's court previously on this but no remedy has been successful.

Roger Bonde against John Knolle.
