- Shete complains that Sir John Pallet (now dead) and Constance his wife granted her 5 marks of annual rent issuing from the manor of Basing, and she was seised of the same until John Pallet, the son and heir withdrew it, notwithstanding his confirmation. She states that she is near to one hundred years old, impotent and of such poverty that she cannot sue her remedy by course of the common law against Pallet. She requests that the prince send his commandment to Pallet to appear before his council at a certain day to answer the premises.
