Nature of request
[Damaged and incomplete] Letter from But and Worsted, clerks, dated at Norwich on 18 January, signifying to the Chancellor that Waterdene has recognised that he owes £10 to Clere, payable at the specified terms, according to the terms of the Statutes of Acton Burnel and Westminster. However, Waterdene has not kept to these terms, and they therefore request that the sheriff of Norfolk be ordered to secure payment from Waterdene.

People mentioned
[? Edward II, King of England]

Note
Although the dating clause is damaged, it may refer to the king's twelfth year, and hence the document has been tentatively assigned to c. 1319, as the fourteenth-century handwriting would tend to favour Edward II's reign more than Edward III. The document is clearly a stray in the SC 8 series.
