- [The petition is badly damaged, with much of the right-hand side of the petition being missing].The people refer to the abbot of Malmesbury being ordained as collector of tenths of Holy Church [? in the diocese of Salisbury] [...] 1d from each 12d, which amounts to a great sum. They request remedy of the excess since they are pressed to approve [...] to the damage of Holy Church and in contempt of the king.
