Nature of request
[The petition is badly damaged with portions missing from both the right and left sides, and with portions of the remainder being illegible].The people make a complaint concerning their assessment for taxation and state that they have nothing to live on, no their land to gain. Reference is made to what they paid in the last tax, and to their losses in a storm. They request that they be discharged of the fifteenth for this time or [...] go into exile, or that it be ordered to the collectors that the people of the vills [...].

Coram rege et magno consilio.Let certain people be assigned to enquire of the things contained in this petition, and when the inquisition has been returned, let the king be advised.
