de Sulyngton (Sullington), Adam
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Sulyngton states that Pykyngton was taken in the quarrel of the earl of Lancaster and was imprisoned at Tickhill and was ransomed for three hundred marks. He is now dead and his lands charged with the sum, and Sulyngton requests the release of the ransom as he has married Pykyngton's widow.

Places mentioned

People mentioned
Roger de Pykyngton
[Thomas of Lancaster], earl of Lancaster.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1323 as it clearly dates quite closely to the revolt of Thomas of Lancaster in March 1322, though sufficient time had elapsed for one of the former rebels to have died, having agreed to pay a sum for his ransom.
