Note
A guard note indicates that this very small fragment of petitions was probably enclosed with a privy seal warrant of 12 April, 16 Edw. III. Although it is now unclear why this link was made between the two documents, if the attribution is correct then the petition dates to 1342 (C 81/282, no. 14648). The attribution may originate from the stamped date on the guard of the petition, which like the C 81 file bears '16 Edw. 3'.
