Nature of request
Petition stating that Musard and his company are indicted of many felonies, robberies and homicides made in Worcestershire, but they have left the county so that they are not able to be taken or attached and it would be of great alms if a writ was sued to the sheriff that if they are indicted that Musard and his companions are taken in whatever county where they can be found for the salvation of the king's peace.[Details of the homicides and murders committed by Musard and his company].The petitioners request a remedy and that a writ can be directed to the Keepers of the Peace and the sheriff of Worcester and to Roger Golafre to enquire of all the articles aforesaid, and the inquisition made on this be sent to the king.

The petition is dated to c. 1323 because attempts were underway to arrest Musard in December 1323 when a writ of aid was issued to Richard de Retlyng assigned to arrest Musard and bring him before the king, and he was in the Tower by 27 June 1324 (CPR 1321-4, p. 358; CCR 1323-7, p. 125).
