[The text of the petition is largely illegible down both sides].Wesenham states that the great crown was delivered to Chyrnyton and his companions upon certain covenants [...] £4,000 which the petitioner paid to acquit the crown, and delivered the same to the king. Upon this the king granted to the petitioner [...] seal all the lands and tenements with the appurtenances that were to the petitioner and his companions to hold until he was paid the £4,000 [...]. And upon this [the petitioner and his companions of the] one part and Chyrnyton and his companions of the other in the Exchequer were commanded to account amongst themselves upon the things [... Chyrnyton] and his companions owed to the petitioner £8,000, whereof £4,000 was rebated for the lands and tenements [...] Chyrnyton and his companions by virtue of the said patent. Of the other £4,000, the petitioner pardoned it to Chyrnyton and his companions, and upon this [...] made general by his part and the other and indentures rehearsing their account and accord before arbiters assigned by the council, and that the estate that the petitioner [...] Chyrnyton and his companions, and also that they acknowledge in the Exchequer that Chyrnyton and his companions did not owe that £1,000 of the arrears of the £4,000 [...] supposing the patents to be in force it is awarded in the Exchequer that the petitioner ought to lose his recovery of the said patent. Wesenham requests that he is able to have his right in the said tenements according to the arbitration, indentures and patent in salvation of him [...] otherwise he will be destroyed without cause.
