Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petition is speculatively dated to c. 1280-c. 1295 in part on the hand, and in part on the reference to Thomas de Hamelden as the former mayor of Bristol. Although no evidence of Hamelden as mayor of Bristol has been found, he seems to have been a merchant active around 1281-1282 (CPR 1281-92, p. 22; CCR 1279-88, p. 122).
