Nature of request
1) Copy of letters patent of Edward II confirming the commitment of the manor of Malton to Joan Comyn, the manor being held by Isabel Vescy in dower from the inheritance of her late husband, and existing in the custody of the king. Comyn is to hold the same taking £80 for her sustenance rendering the surplus at the Exchequer, and holding the same until she recovers her Scottish lands, or is provided for elsewhere.2) Memorandum that Comyn was ousted from the manor by force and arms on the twelfth day of Christmas in the twelfth year of the king's reign, as is shown before the barons of the Exchequer, by those who are contained in a transcript of a writ of the Exchequer, and they cannot be made to come by any distress to answer for the same.
