The petition is dated to? c. 1403 on the basis of references to Thomas de Tutbury being granted the deanery of king's free chapel of St Martin le Grand, London on 10 December 1402, and of its subsequent grant to another king's clerk on 26 February 1403, the implication being that Tutbury had died not long after the grant of the deanery (CPR 1401-5, pp. 185, 207).
