Nature of request
[Petition in two parts. The petition is badly damaged and stained, and too little of the second part survives to reconstruct its sense].1) The petitioners state that Hastinges granted by his charter to them and Amyas (now dead), and their heirs in fee simple, the manor of Naileston [...] and quitclaimed the same manor to them by his act enrolled in Chancery in the reign of Edward III. After the earl's death and inquisition was taken by writ of diem clausit extremum, and afterwards [? granted] the same amongst other lands and tenements to Anne, widow of the earl. [The remainder is unclear].2) [Request relating to Thomas Crickelade, though little of the entry survives].
