[This petition, in four parts, is badly faded and largely illegible]1) . . . of the lord pope, chaplain, and to England . . . and to your royal majesty sent, in business entrusted to him by the apostolic see to the same . . . and other business of the Church of Rome entrusted to him and also to be entrusted to him . . . bestow favour and no injuries, annoyances, or hindrances . . . without prejudice of the king be put into execution.2) He asks that some ecclesiastical men might be assigned to him to clarify any doubts or difficulties he might have in the business assigned to him, when he is unable to ask the king in person, and that he might be able to use any apostolic letters sent or to be sent to him, without prejudice to the crown.3) He asks that he might have the said of the secular arm in collecting debts due both to the Roman church and to the Holy Land.4) [Illegible]
