[This petition is badly damaged and faded] . . . Burgeys his brother . . . that Roger le Estraunge, Justice of the Forest owes them 60 . . . take 10s. by recognisance (?) . . . that the king has been out of the land . . . purchase writ . . . to levy the debt . . . distraint, on the power of his office of justice; so we ask you, dear lord . . . you might be pleased to give us a remedy . . . aforesaid debt, if you please.
Nature of endorsement
They are to have a writ in Chancery returnable before the king; and this writ before the king.[Two previous endorsements have been deleted]
