Nicholas de Burdeaus states that he has been imprisoned, to his great wrong, and that he has spent £200 of Bordeaux, and his wife has sold two houses of her inheritance to meet his costs and expenses. His wages are also in arrears by a year and 120 days, and his robe worth one mark. For all this he puts himself on the king's grace.

Dated on the guard to c. 1300, without explanation. This date would certainly seem to agree with the hand, and the reference to arrears of wages of a year and a third (after the war of 1294-8).
