- Nicholas de Burdeaus states that he has been imprisoned, to his great wrong, and that he has spent £200 of Bordeaux, and his wife has sold two houses of her inheritance to meet his costs and expenses. His wages are also in arrears by a year and 120 days, and his robe worth one mark. For all this he puts himself on the king's grace.

- Dated on the guard to c. 1300, without explanation. This date would certainly seem to agree with the hand, and the reference to arrears of wages of a year and a third (after the war of 1294-8).
