Addressees
[Not specified].
Nature of request
[This petition is badly faded] William ap Grifin and his brother, the king's faithful barons of Edeirnion make two requests:1) Concerning their men and their possessions of [nine minims: probably a place-name] as they more fully had from the prince and from the king's relatives.2) They ask to be defended from Reginald de Grey, and that the men of Penllyn might be ordered not to harass them unduly because of the booty that their men received in time of war.
Nature of endorsement
[None]
Places mentioned

Penllyn, [Merioneth, Wales].
People mentioned

Reginald de Grey.
Note
Tentatively dated on the guard to c. 1277, although the mention of war and of Reginald de Grey, who was granted the castle of Ruthin in October 1282, might rather suggest a date in the 1280s, perhaps after Llywelyn ap Gruffudd's death in 1282.
