Nature of request
Robert de Felton states that John, son of Robert de Glanton holds half the vill of Glanton of Henry, son and heir of Isabel, widow of John le fuiz Hugh, who is in the king's wardship, and that a Hugh Galoun has bought these lands from John, without giving satisfaction to the king, although Henry's closest friends/kin (amis) were ready to have purchased the lands on his behalf. Hugh Galoun has also purchased a third of the vill of Whittingham, which is held in chief of the king, from John de Glanton. Robert de Felton, who has the wardship and marriage of the king's gift, asks that neither Hugh Galoun nor anyone else might be received into any purchase touching our lord the king and Henry, until Henry is of age. He also states that the plea pending between Henry and the king has been moved and upheld by Hugh Galoun, and would never have arisen without his counsel.
