Nature of request
[This petition is faded and hard to read] The petition states that Nicholas de Etyngedene made his will as a good Christian should and made Sampson Foliot and William de Ho his executors. He left provisions for two knights to go to the Holy Land, as he had sworn to do, he left some money to his two daughters, to become nuns, and he made arrangements to settle his debts. But after his death his goods were sequestrated at Lamborne by the king's people, so that the official does not dare to do anything that pertains to Holy Church. The executors ask that they might have half of Nicholas's goods to carry out his testament.
Nature of endorsement
Because the king has none of the goods in his hand, John de Ba and the other executors are to be ordered to satisfy Alyne de Heaton for the aforesaid, and the official is to be ordered that . . . etc. the king not to proceed . . .
