[Petition in three parts].1) The merchants ask the king to order the chancellor or his lieutenant, by his letters, to make four letters close to the king of France, Charles de Valois, Louis, comte de Anjou, and to . . ., recommending the company of the Bardi and their goods to them, and asking them to make sure that no-one harasses them.2) [This part is largely illegible]. Letters are requested to the chancellor that he will make . . . writs of the Exchequer to . . .3) Letters are requested to the chancellor or his lieutenant to issue a writ to the Treasurer . . . to pay them 13000 [marks], according to the form of their letters obligatory, and to give them writs of assignment to the bishops, as far as pertains . . .
