Addressees

Nature of request
The petition states that two of Kyngeshemede's men had left his court by night without his consent, or that of any of Kyngeshemede's men, and that they met the king's men and joined battle with them, and they wounded a sergeant of the king and two of Kyngeshemede's men. They were then imprisoned, where the one who had wounded the sergeant died of his wounds, while the other is still in Newgate; and the sergeant has recovered. All Kyngeshemede's other men have been attached for this trespass, although they knew nothing about it, and were in bed at the time; but despite this they were put in prison three times and brought before the justices three times though there is no suit against them. Thye have a day on the morrow of the Ascension, and request their release, as they are not guilty of anything.
