[This petition is fragmentary] . . . in your city of London that among other privileges granted to them by your noble progenitors . . . for any debt for which they are not a pledge or the principal debtor, nor for any trespass done or to be done by . . . notwithstanding which, now of late George Lamte, one of the said fellowship, coming with merchandise from beyond the . . . Simon Baxter and others of Lynn, and within an hour after the arrest at a court of piepowder as it is said . . . fellowship nor friends may speak with him . . . but, as it is said, it is claimed by the same Baxter and the rest that . . . cause of arrest of a ship there last August, that belonged to the said Baxter and others of Lynn, and . . . done to him and his subjects . . . was said there, of the which arrest the said George and his . . . said ship to have been disarrested and . . . was bound and became pledge for half a ship . . . merchandise to the . . . the said Baxter does to be kept there . . . under your great seal of . . . to the bailiff of the liberty of the . . . of Lynn . . . the body of the . . . and process made against him in that part . . . pain . . . and . . . February to answer to the aforesaid . . . town . . . the merchants . . . with their merchandise which . . . to be . . . liberties granted to them by your . . .
