[This petition is fragmentary] . . . of his special benign grace and as a work of charity gave and granted him the office of treasurer in the collegiate church of . . . office of treasurer as appears from his letters patent made on this; to which he was instututed, inducted and put in corporal [possession] . . . as his customary letters for such a case attest, and afterwards Thomas Bekyngham, clerk had put there/been put there . . . petitioner from the said benefice without any process [of law], whereas the said Thomas Bekyngham has no right . . . of God and in salvation of the right of the king our most dread lord; may it please you to grant the said petitioner letters . . . all the other ministers of my lord the Earl of March in the lordship of Builth, whereas the said prebend is . . . said benefice until by the right and law of the realm it is justly decided and judged if the king our said most dread lord . . .

Note
The petitioner is tentatively identified as Thomas More, Queen Anne of Bohemia's Treasurer, with reference to SC 8/186/9289 and especially to SC 8/222/11055, where he is mentioned as having been expelled from the office of Treasurer in the collegiate church of Abergwili by the appointment of Thomas Bekyngham. CPR 1385-9 p.516 is dated 10 October 1388, as is the fuller CPR 1388-92 p.3, CPR 1388-92 p.18 is dated 1 March 1389 and p.306 is dated 14 October 1390. CCR 1385-9 p.683 is dated 31 May 1389. This would seem to date the petition to c. 1390.
