[This petition is fragmentary and badly faded] . . . council prays John Bardolf of Wormegay that whereas there is a hay between his park . . . county of Norfolk, which he holds in chief of our said lord the king . . . bishop . . . predecessors from time immemorial have repaired it, the which [hay is] now . . . wild animals of the park . . . the park of the said bishop . . . put in the park of the said bishop . . . the park of the said John and . . . trample down and lay waste to his great harm. May it please our said lord the king . . . to his ministers that what is reasonable is to be done for the said John concerning that enclosure, as he has . . . before now, in the times of all bishops.
Nature of endorsement
It is to be enquired into in the presence of John de Wasenham, keeper of the temporalities of the bishopric of Ely, if he wishes to be present, and if it is found [that what] the bill claims [is true], a writ is to be sent to the said John to have the said park repaired.
