Note (Additional information about the record)
- The Multon mentioned here might be John de Multon (what can be read of the Christian name looks like John), who on 29 May 1327 was going to Scotland in the king's service, and was empowered to appoint a substitute in his office of collecting certain customs and prests in Boston (CPR 1327-30 p.107). There also seems be a mention of the king's first year, or the king's father, in the petition. These things, together with the hand and language, would seem to suggest a date of c. 1328 for this petition.
