Date
[? c. 1307]
Description
Petitioners
John de Reymerston.
Name(s)
de Reymerston, John
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
[This petition is badly damaged] [To our lord the] king John de Reymerston prays for God and . . . service of the king by storm at sea, [through] which he . . . Peter de Mauley and master John de Weston.
Nature of endorsement
He is to name some hospital of the king's foundation where he can be provided for, and it will be done for him.
People mentioned
Peter de Mauley
John de Weston.
Note
Tentatively dated to c. 1307, with reference to SC 8/318/E295, which refers to a grant of sustenance in a religious house given to the petitioner by Edward I in 1307 when he lost his feet and his chattels in Edward's service by tempest of the sea. The endorsement tends to suggest that this might be the petition to the Carlisle parliament that resulted in that grant, but much of it is illegible, and it might, like SC 8/318/E295, be from the early years of the reign of Edward II.
