Nature of request
Eleanor, wife of John Lenthall, states that Henry Restard, who held certain lands in the parishes of Wellington, Lyde, Burmarsh and Bodenham, died without issue of his body, so that she is the next heir in those lands. Thomas Hogges of the parish of Wellington has the deeds to these lands, and she has often asked him to deliver them to her; but he refuses to do so without a bribe. She requests letters under the signet to Thomas, ordering him to deliver the deeds or inform the council why he ought not to do so

The parties named within have a day to appear on 5 January.[A long endorsement follows, now too faded to be read]At Bewdley the 29 day of April, it was ordered by the council, because the priest would not be bound according to the direction of the writs, they are to be redirected to the common law.Eleanor, late the wife of John Lenthall.
