[This petition is damaged] Milet de Boyle states that his houses and possessions in the castellany of Bourg have been burnt and destroyed because of the king's late war in Gascony, and he is [greatly impoverished] by the war. He requests letters patent allowing him to . . . in the said castellany of Bourg, where he can preserve his body and his goods from his enemies, and he will always be ready to [surrender them] to the king or his Seneschal, and [to serve] the king to the limit of his power.
