[This petition is fragmentary] . . . heir she is, and the said Peter died . . . within this year without an heir of his body and then the said Alice . . . the said manors, claiming them . . . the said Peter. And . . . the king because of the said petitioner's minority, and notwithstanding . . . of the king's right and to the disinheritance of the said Joan . . . knight, John Chaundos, knight, John ap Herry, Sheriff of the same . . . by the said Peter to the said Roger Nassh, Robert Nicholas and Robert . . . fine or in another manner, and which of them died last and from which . . . and if the said Thomas is dead, and who is his next heir, and of what age, and of the value . . . the king's right and the said petitioner's inheritance in this matter . . . can for the profit of the king, and this because John Maunce, Escheator of the said . . . to grant a writ to the Sheriff of Herefordshire, to have the said Hugh and Roger . . . said manors and have occupied them after they were seized into the king's hand . . . the said manors to the use and profit of our said lord the king in the meantime, for God and as a work of charity . . . of the said petitioner.
