Nature of request
Thomas Saunderson states that on 22 July last, Bernard Skelton, Anthony Skelton, Richard Cleteran, and John Skelton, with other ill-disposed people to the number of fourteen, attacked him at Dodyngfoud and badly wounded him, to his great undoing, unless he has the king's help. He requests writs to Bernard, Anthony, John and Richard, ordering them to appear before the king and council at Westminster on a certain day, on pain of a penalty to be imposed by the king, to answer for this behaviour, and to receive such orders as the king and council wish to give.
